Can I machine wash the razai (quilt)?

No. The razai must not be machine washed. It is dry clean only. Machine washing can damage the hand-filled inner and distort the quilt's shape and loft. For surface spots, use a damp cloth with mild soap and air dry in shade. The bedsheet and pillow covers, however, can be machine washed on a gentle cycle.

Are the dyes used in the bedsheet and razai safe for children?

Yes. All Aenak products use natural dyes with no harsh chemicals, azo dyes, or synthetic fixatives. This makes them safe for children, babies, and people with sensitive skin.

Will the colours bleed or fade after washing?

Slight colour bleeding may occur in the first 1–2 washes of the bedsheet — this is normal for natural dyes. After that, colours stabilise and stay vibrant. Always wash the bedsheet separately in cold water for the first wash. The razai should only be dry cleaned, so colour bleeding is not a concern for the quilt.

How warm is the Aenak razai? Is it suitable for Indian winters?

The Aenak razai is designed for Indian winters — warm enough for cool December and January nights, but not as heavy as a synthetic fibre quilt. It works well in most North and Central Indian climates. For very cold regions or those who prefer extra warmth, we recommend our heavier-fill razai variant.

What is Sanganeri handblock printing?

Sanganeri printing is a centuries-old Indian textile craft originating from Sanganer, near Jaipur. Artisans hand-carve wooden blocks with intricate patterns and press them one impression at a time onto fabric using natural dyes. Each block placement is done by hand, giving every piece slight variations that are the hallmark of authentic craftsmanship. Digital or screen printing cannot replicate this depth and texture.
